MADE LOCALLY IN MEADOW LAKE, SASKATCHEWAN
How it started
MEET VALINDA
I started my passion for glasswork several decades ago. In 2008, I started to experiment with glass fusion and was soon hooked. Glass has properties that no other medium has and this has always intrigued me. The ability to change the glass's appearance by layering and then slumping into different shapes has allowed me to create unique functional and decorative pieces. I have honed my craft by taking classes through the U of S Community Arts program, from various Saskatchewan artists and have travelled to the states to take classes from internationally know artists. This has allowed me to keep up with the latest techniques and advancements in the field. I thoroughly enjoy bringing these new findings back to my studio in Meadow Lake, where I can put my own distinct spin on them.
I am a member of the Saskatoon Glassworker's Guild and also a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
